Job Summary and Qualifications
The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) ensures and delivers high quality, patient-centered care and coordination of all functions in the unit/department during the designated shift. In collaboration with other with established policies/procedures, serves as a resource person for staff, and models a commitment to the organization’s vision/mission/values to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes that contribute to overall departmental performance.

- Collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate, evaluate, customize, and deliver high quality, patient-centered care.

- Assists with staff scheduling. Manages all practical aspects of staff labor in accordance with patient care needs and established productivity guidelines. Supports proper inventory control and assists with managing supplies and equipment.
- Ensures compliance with all policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
- Supports the mission and vision of the Methodist Healthcare System. Understands and is committed to helping the Methodist Healthcare System and its associated facilities achieve its goals.
- Must learn and comply with System and facility safety policies and rules; must use appropriate safety equipment and procedures at all times; must immediately report all unsafe conditions to supervisors; must be familiar with all safety features of equipment, tools or materials encompassed by job duties; and must check with supervisors (prior to job performance) if there is a question as to the safe procedure to be used for any job function.
- Adheres to the MHS Code of Conduct and demonstrates ethical behavior as expected by our patients, colleagues and the community. Understands the personal obligation to report any activity that appears to violate applicable laws, rules regulations or the Code of Conduct itself.
- Completes other duties as assigned.
About the Unit:
- 20 bed Medical ICU
- Patient to Nurse ratio 2:1
- Cares for a variety of complex patients to include: sepsis, DKA, stroke/seizures, liver and renal disease, respiratory failure, etc
- Unit offers individualized orientation with dedicated preceptors and specialized classes
- Doctors are invested in the staff and provide educational offerings to increase knowledge base

What is required:
- Graduate of an accredited diploma, associate or baccalaureate degree in nursing required
- BSN preferred
- Minimum of 1 year working as a Registered Nurse (RN) required
- 3 years of recent RN experience in an ICU setting strongly preferred
