Qualifications
- Fluency in English is required.
- Academic Requirement: Registered nurse license, Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- Certifications: Good standing as a registered RN with the State of Texas Board of Nursing; current BLS certification (PALS preferred), First Aid, CPR, and emergency behavior intervention
- Work Experience: Minimum 5 years as an RN; preferred pediatric nursing experience
- Meet and maintain all federal and state regulatory guidelines and standards applicable to this position.
- Provide telehealth triage services to assess patient needs and evaluate symptoms, including patient inquiries, patient teaching, and determining urgency and appropriate care.
- Conduct in-person and virtual assessments based on established protocols and accurately document medical findings.
- Gather, collect, and clarify patients’ current condition and past medical history.
- Effectively communicate with the Medical Director when findings are concerning for a patient’s health and well‑being.
- Communicate with RN Managers and other medical staff to devise individual plans of care and serve as a nurse support for other medical staff.
- Implement Compass Connections safety protocols, including evacuation procedures with children and staff during emergencies.
- Maintain confidentiality of health‑care records in accordance with HIPAA and Compass Connections PII protocol and procedures.
- Address other job duties as assigned or for unforeseen matters requiring attention to maintain program fluidity and functionality.
- Plan, organize, and prioritize daily work using sound judgment.
- Monitor established health‑care plans for the service population at sites within the timeframe established by our state and federal partners.
- Ensure accurate documentation per agency policies, regulatory requirements, and program timelines.
- Meet all program and federal partners’ documentation and process requirements.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Pass a pre‑employment drug screen and random drug screens throughout employment.
- Provide proof of work eligibility status upon request.
- Pass a pre‑employment and biennial criminal background check.
- Demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively with staff and service providers, communicate effectively in writing and verbally, work in a fast‑paced environment, maintain emotional control and professional composure, and meet computer literacy requirements.
- Work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team without intensive supervision.
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of all Compass Connections policies and procedures.
- Provide current physical‑medical release and proof of immunizations, titers, or declinations for MMR, Varicella, Hep B, Hep A, Tetanus, PPD, and optionally Meningococcal (preferred).
- Perform physical activity such as extensive walking, stretching, and bending.
- Maintain professional interpersonal skills, including oral, written, listening, and non‑verbal communication.
