Well Med Medical Group, part of the Optum family, seeks a full‑time Float Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in San Antonio, TX. This role is in a clinician‑led care organization committed to improving healthcare for all.

Position Highlights
  • Practice with a multi‑disciplinary team of healthcare providers.
  • Model provides efficient, comprehensive, and proven care techniques to treat the whole patient at each visit.
  • “Quality vs. Quantity Model” – typically see 14 to 16 patients per day.
  • Patient panel is predominantly geriatrics with Medicare Advantage coverage.
  • Bonus incentives are based on quality metrics.
Key Responsibilities

You will work independently and as part of a team to diagnose, treat, and manage adult patients, primarily those with Medicare‑aged conditions, in a high‑volume, quality‑focused setting. Your daily activities will include patient assessments, developing care plans, prescribing medications, coordinating with other providers, and contributing to quality improvement initiatives.

Compensation & Benefits
  • Base salary plus quality bonus; total cash compensation ranges from $109,500 to $164,000.

  • Clinician learning and development programs.
Required Qualifications
  • Certification through AANP, ANCC, or NCCPA.
  • Current licensure in Texas and New Mexico (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant).
  • Valid DEA license or ability to obtain one before employment.
  • Minimum 1 year of clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
  • Comfortable managing a primarily Medicare‑aged patient population.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Working understanding of a managed care environment.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) fluency.
