Job Summary And QualificationsThe Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) ensures and delivers high quality, patient-centered care and coordination of all functions in the unit/department during the designated shift. In collaboration with other members of the management team, the CNC directs, monitors, and evaluates nursing care in accordance with established policies and procedures, serves as a resource person for staff, and models a commitment to the organization’s vision, mission, and values to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes.
Whatyou will do in this role
- Assist with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high quality, patient-centered care.
- Participate in the ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services provided in the unit, in collaboration with other members of the management team.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts and other managers to create an environment of teamwork that supports improved outcomes and service.
- Support a patient-first philosophy and engage in service recovery when necessary.
- Support the facility’s efforts to improve engagement by operationalizing current nursing strategies, including employee rounding, hourly rounds, and other initiatives.
- Provide recommendations related to interviewing, selecting, and training new staff, and implement courses of action such as training, conflict resolution, personnel policy compliance, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions to ensure a competitive organization.
- Assist with staff scheduling and manage all practical aspects of staff labor in accordance with patient care needs and established productivity guidelines.
- Support proper inventory control and assist with managing supplies and equipment.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course required.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program required.
- Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certification must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required.
- STABLE certification required.
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date.
- Registered Nurse (RN) license with a minimum of 6 months of licensed RN experience.
- Associate's degree, Bachelor's degree, or Registered Nurse diploma.
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience.
- Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Texas or Multi-State Compact License;
Employees with RN Compact License must obtain Texas RN license within 60 days of hire date.
