• Supervise and provide nursing care in accordance with physician orders and established standards.
• Perform duties related to pre‑admission, admission, and discharge of residents.
• Manage medication regime, including acceptance of physician’s orders, transcribing orders, ordering medications, and ensuring medications are on hand.
• Ensure medical supplies are accessible and request additional supplies in a timely manner.
• Maintain a safe environment for residents.
• Monitor and supervise Health Support Assistants (HSA) to ensure appropriate care for residents.
• Participate in Quality Assurance Performance Improvement Committees and complete assigned tasks.
• Communicate with family members, physicians, other staff, support services, and outside agencies regarding residents’ care and condition.
• Record all pertinent information, including observations, treatments, and medications, in the resident Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and inform the Supervisor of any adverse changes in resident condition.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in the State of Texas in good standing with the Board of Nurse Examiners.
• Current CPR and AED certifications, and up‑to‑date Continuing Education Units (CEUs) required for licensure.
• Preferred:
  At least one year of previous experience in a long‑term care setting.
• Preferred:
  Additional education beyond the minimum nursing licensure level, including training in supervision and infection control.
