Float Registered Nurse – Full‑time

Provide professional nursing care to patients under the supervision of a charge nurse. Guaranteed 30 hours per week (fluctuating up to 40 hours per week) under the same compensation structure. Must be willing to work and travel to all Health by Design Clinic locations in San Antonio. Shifts are between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm, with no 12‑hour shifts, no weekends, and no major holidays.

The position offers competitive compensation ($35‑37/hr plus mileage reimbursement) and benefits including health, dental, vision, 401(k), generous PTO and more.

• Assess, triage, plan, provide, and evaluate patient care during a shift or clinic, ensuring execution of physician orders and adherence to company policy and procedures.
• May delegate work to licensed vocational nurse (LVN) or medical assistants (MA) as needed and depending on location.
• Assist physicians with procedures, dressing changes, and medication administration.
• Perform phlebotomy and other lab tests, and monitor vital measurements (blood pressure, blood sugar, EKG, etc.) as ordered.
• Coordinate with patients regarding scheduling office visits, follow‑up for test results, medication refills, referrals, and insurance issues.
• Provide patient health and wellness education, informally and through Health by Design health and nutritional coaching programs.
• Administer allergies and other injections as ordered by the patient’s physician or allergist per Health by Design policies.
• Respond to a variety of medical emergencies that present to the clinic.
• Document patient care and code visits appropriately in the electronic medical record.
• Assist with coding and claims on patient encounters as needed under guidance of the charge nurse.
• Assist the charge nurse to maintain a functional clinic.
• May function independently under standing orders when needed.
• May serve as team leader in the absence of the Clinic Charge Nurse.
• Serve as a steward for Health by Design philosophy and resources.
• Perform necessary administrative responsibilities, including answering phone calls and voicemails, scheduling appointments, scanning and faxing patient documents, to ensure optimal clinic workflow.
