Job Description
As a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse), you support plasma center operations and work under the guidance of the Center Manager and Center Physician.
Responsibilities- Determine donor eligibility to donate plasma, including informed consent, AIDS education, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review of serological protein electrophoresis (SPE).
- Manage donor adverse events and review laboratory test results, notifying donors of unsuitable test results.
- Evaluate donor reactions and follow SOPs for medical emergencies, including the development of the Center Physician’s standing orders and coordinating donor transport to emergency care facilities.
- Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or guidance concerning medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility.
- Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
- Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health; follow EHS guidance.
- Serve as a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized, supporting investigations related to pandemic threats within the local community.
- High school diploma or equivalent, including graduate-equivalent of a recognized nursing program with state requirements.
- Currently licensed or certified in the state of assignment: LPN or LVN.
- Current CPR and AED certification.
- Fulfilled state requirements for basic IV therapy.
- Completion of FDA‑approved training requirements for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
- Two years of clinical or hospital experience.

CompensationU.S. Hourly Wage Range: $24.32 – $33.44 per hour. The offered hourly wage may depend on qualifications, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location. The wage includes U.S. minimum wage compliance.
