Job Description
Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) – responsible for supporting plasma center operations and ensuring donor safety and compliance with industry regulations.
About the roleWork under the guidance of the Center Manager or Assistant Manager and the Center Physician. This position requires determining donor eligibility, managing donor adverse events, reviewing laboratory results, and coordinating with medical staff.
How you will contribute- Determine donor eligibility and manage informed consent, AIDS education, and self‑exclusion.
- Conduct medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review serological protein electrophoresis.
- Evaluate donor reactions, follow SOPs for medical emergencies, and coordinate donor transport to emergency care facilities.
- Provide guidance to donors on medical findings and refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs when necessary.
- Support hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
- Manage employee incidents and determine further evaluation required by occupational health/ER.
- Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations of pandemic threats.
- High school diploma or equivalent, including graduate equivalent of a recognized nursing program with state requirements.
- Active license or certification in the state of assignment (e.g., EMT‑Paramedic).
- Current CPR and AED certification.
- State requirements for basic IV therapy.
- Completion of FDA‑approved Bio Life Medical Support Specialist training.
- At least two years clinical or hospital experience.

CompensationHourly wage range: $24.32 – $33.44. Wages will reflect qualifications, experience, and local minimum wage requirements.
