Well Med, part of the Optum family of businesses, is seeking a nurse practitioner or physician assistant to join our Northeast Pod in San Antonio, TX. PositionHighlights
- Daytime, Monday - Friday
- Be a part of a collaborative and comprehensive health care team
- 100% of patients will have a Well Med employed, contracted or affiliated PCP
- Our model is designed to provide the most efficient, comprehensive, and proven care techniques to treat the whole patient – physically, mentally, and socially
- Quality vs. Quantity Model – Typically census per hospitalist is 10 to 13 patients per day
- Patient panel is limited to geriatrics with Medicare Advantage coverage

- Certification through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), or the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
- Additional Acute Care Certification is required
- Current Licensure through the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners or Licensed Physician Assistant by the Texas State Medical Board
- Valid DEA license or the ability to obtain one prior to employment
- 1+ year of clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
- Comfortable managing a primarily Medicare‑aged patient population
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) fluency
- A working understanding and support of a managed care environment
Compensation for this specialty generally ranges from $109,500 to $164,000. Total cash compensation includes base pay and bonus and is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience and may increase over time based on productivity and performance in the role. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
