Biolife Registered Nurse

Job Description

You will determine donor eligibility, including proper management of informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing serological protein electrophoresis. You will manage donor adverse events, review laboratory test results, notify donors of unsuitable test results, support infection control measures, and cooperate with the Center Physician, Medical Affairs, and Environmental Health and Safety.

The role requires familiarity with regulatory guidelines and the ability to work under the guidance of the Center Manager and Physician for operational and medical issues.

• Determine donor eligibility.
• Conduct medical history interviews and physical examinations.
• Administer blood testing and review laboratory results.
• Evaluate donor reaction and manage medical emergencies as per SOP.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for medical or technical issues.
• Support hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents and coordinate occupational health evaluations.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized.

• High school diploma or equivalent, including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements.
• Current license or certification in the state:
  Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA).
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfillment of state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Completion of FDA approved training requirements for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
• Two years of clinical or hospital experience.
