Registered Nurse – Mother Baby ​/ Postpartum

Job Summary:

Provides compassionate and skilled nursing care to postpartum mothers and newborns in a hospital setting. Ensures patient safety, supports patient education, and collaborates with healthcare teams to deliver optimal care.

Responsibilities:

• Administer nursing care to postpartum patients and their newborns according to established protocols.
• Monitor and document patient vital signs, progress, and any complications using Meditech and CPN systems.
• Educate new mothers on postpartum care, newborn procedures, and recovery expectations.
• Respond promptly to patient needs and call requirements, including high-risk antepartum and postpartum cases.
• Maintain a clean, professional, and compliant appearance according to dress code policies.
• Adhere to safety standards, including infection control policies and RN licensing requirements.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active Texas RN license; temporary licenses are not accepted.
• Possess a minimum of 2 years of hospital experience in postpartum or newborn nursing.
• Maintain current certifications: BLS and NRP.
• Demonstrate ability to care for high-risk antepartum and postpartum patients.
• Have experience with Meditech documentation and neonatal care procedures.
• Be able to float as needed to LAD units and follow attendance policies.
