Acts as patient advocate during the perioperative period by implementing a plan to protect patients from injury, wrong site surgery, infection and retained instruments. Coordinates the patient’s care between providers and hospital staff, supports the physical and emotional needs of patients while assisting the surgeon, and documents care provided accurately and completely, including interventions, equipment, and supplies.
Required EducationGraduate of accredited school of nursing
Preferred EducationBachelor of Science in Nursing
Required Skills- Basic computer keyboard skills
- Meditech proficiency
Texas license as a Registered Nurse, certified in Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support
Preferred Licensure/Registration/CertificationOperating Room (CNOR)
Preferred ExperienceOne year experience as a circulator in a hospital or outpatient surgery
