Position: Sub-Investigator / Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner to serve as a Sub-Investigator at a clinical research site in San Antonio. This individual will work closely with the Principal Investigator and research team to oversee the medical care of clinical trial participants and ensure studies are conducted safely, accurately, and in compliance with study protocols and regulatory requirements.

This is an opportunity to play an important role in Phase I–IV clinical research
, working alongside an experienced research team and contributing to the development of new and innovative therapies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as a Sub-Investigator and provide clinical oversight for study participants.
  • Conduct study-related medical assessments, office visits, and clinical procedures in accordance with study protocols.
  • Evaluate participant eligibility based on protocol inclusion and exclusion criteria.
  • Assess participant response to treatment and monitor overall safety throughout the study.
  • Evaluate, document, and appropriately report adverse events and serious adverse events.
  • Ensure informed consent is properly obtained and documented before study procedures are performed.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of assigned study protocols, investigational products, and regulatory requirements.
  • Work closely with the Principal Investigator, research coordinators, sponsors, monitors, and other members of the research team.
  • Review study documentation and ensure clinical data is accurate, complete, and consistent with source records.
  • Support compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP), ICH guidelines, FDA requirements, IRB requirements, and study protocols

  • Participate in sponsor meetings, monitoring visits, audits, and investigator meetings as needed.
  • Assist with study feasibility and provide clinical input regarding potential new trials.
  • Support patient recruitment and retention efforts, including collaboration with physicians and other healthcare providers.
  • Ensure appropriate handling, use, and oversight of investigational products when applicable.
  • Maintain required regulatory documentation and current professional credentials.
  • Support the overall quality and successful execution of clinical trials at the site.
Qualifications
  • Licensed Nurse Practitioner (NP) required.
  • Current and unrestricted license to practice in Texas.
  • Previous experience serving as a Sub-Investigator on industry-sponsored clinical trials strongly preferred
    .
  • Clinical research experience highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of GCP, ICH guidelines, FDA regulations, and clinical trial protocols
    .
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and clinical documentation.
  • Ability to independently assess participants and make appropriate clinical decisions within protocol and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with patients, research staff, sponsors, and healthcare providers.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and documentation.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical research environment.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and clinical research systems.
  • Ability to travel overnight occasionally for investigator meetings or other business needs.
