Position Summary

The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) delivers comprehensive, patient-centered care across the continuum of urologic services. Working closely with physicians and multidisciplinary teams, the APP evaluates, diagnose, treats, and educates patients with both acute and chronic urologic conditions.

This role is integral to achieving excellent clinical outcomes, enhancing patient satisfaction, and supporting practice initiatives focused on quality, innovation, and operational excellence.

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, physical examinations, and follow-up visits
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic urologic conditions
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
  • Order, interpret, and communicate diagnostic and laboratory test results
  • Prescribe medications and therapies in accordance with applicable regulations and scope of practice
  • Perform office-based procedures within scope of practice, including limited procedures such as string stent removals
  • Provide preventive care, health promotion, and wellness counseling
  • Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, disease management, and healthy lifestyle practices
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care and optimal patient outcomes
  • Document patient encounters accurately and timely within the electronic medical record (EMR)

Leadership & Quality Improvement

  • Collaborate with physicians and leadership on clinical initiatives and performance improvement projects
  • Support the development and implementation of clinical protocols, pathways, and best practices
  • Identify opportunities to enhance workflow efficiency, patient access, and the overall patient experience
  • Participate in quality assurance, compliance, risk management, and performance improvement activities
  • Assist with implementation of new programs, policies, technologies, and operational processes

Required Qualifications

  • Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the State of Texas
  • Master's degree or higher from an accredited advanced practice program
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and decision-making skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and patient education abilities
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records and healthcare technology
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in urology, genitourinary health, oncology, surgery, internal medicine, or family practice
  • Experience in a fast-paced specialty clinic environment
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) candidates preferred
