Registered Nurse

Methodist Healthcare in San Antonio is seeking a Registered Nurse for PRN IV Infusion Therapy. In this role, you’ll deliver safe, high-quality IV infusions, manage peripheral and central lines, and closely monitor patients’ responses. You’ll perform thorough assessments, document care in the EMR, and collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and the broader care team. You will educate patients and families on therapies and side effects, uphold strict infection control standards, and support a mission-driven, compassionate, team-based environment with opportunities to grow your clinical skills.

• Provide IV infusion therapy, including initiation, monitoring, and discontinuation of infusions.
• Assess, monitor, and document patients’ status and responses to therapy in the EMR.
• Manage peripheral and central venous access devices using strict aseptic technique.
• Administer medications, fluids, and blood products per provider orders and protocols.
• Educate patients and families on therapies, side effects, and home care instructions.
• Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and interdisciplinary team members on care plans.
• Respond to and manage infusion-related adverse reactions and emergencies.
• Maintain accurate documentation, charge capture, and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Precept and support new staff, contributing to continuous learning and best practices.
