Job Summary
We are seeking a QA/QC Manager to lead and oversee quality assurance and quality control operations across multiple hyperscale data center construction projects. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing standardized QA/QC programs that ensure all low-voltage infrastructure installations meet client specifications, industry standards, and project quality expectations. The QA/QC Manager will provide leadership to QA/QC personnel, collaborate closely with Project Managers and field teams, and drive proactive quality processes that prevent rework, reduce project delays, and maintain compliance in mission-critical environments.
The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in low-voltage infrastructure, fiber optic systems, testing and certification processes, and quality management within large-scale data center or mission-critical construction environments. This individual must possess strong leadership, organizational, and technical skills, with the ability to oversee multiple projects and maintain consistent quality standards across all active sites.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all QA/QC operations across multiple active hyperscale data center project sites.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve branch-wide QA/QC programs, procedures, and reporting standards.
- Supervise, mentor, and manage QA/QC personnel, including hiring, onboarding, scheduling, and performance management.
- Conduct and oversee inspections of low-voltage infrastructure installations, including fiber optic systems, copper cabling, pathways, racks, ladder racks, and cable tray systems.
- Ensure all installations comply with project specifications, client standards, BICSI, TIA/EIA, NEC, and applicable industry requirements.
- Direct and validate Fluke DSX testing, OTDR testing, fiber certification, and related quality testing procedures.
- Review construction drawings, technical specifications, elevations, and project documentation to verify installation accuracy and compliance.
- Identify quality deficiencies, implement corrective action plans, and track issue resolution to completion.
- Maintain QA/QC logs, punch lists, inspection reports, deficiency reports, and project quality documentation.
- Collaborate with Project Managers, field leadership, General Contractors, and clients to align QA/QC activities with project milestones and deliverables.
- Participate in project walkthroughs, milestone reviews, quality meetings, and client inspections.
- Provide technical guidance and coaching to field technicians on workmanship standards, installation best practices, and quality expectations.
- Support scheduling and allocation of QA/QC resources across multiple projects to meet operational demands.
- Monitor and report project quality metrics, risks, trends, and corrective actions to leadership.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA standards, site safety requirements, PPE protocols, and change-control procedures within mission-critical environments.
- Lead safety and quality inspections and escalate concerns when necessary.
Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required; technical certifications or industry training preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of QA/QC experience within data center, telecom, low-voltage, or mission-critical construction environments.
- Previous leadership experience managing QA/QC programs, personnel, and multi-site operations.
- Strong hands-on expertise with fiber optic splicing, testing, troubleshooting, and certification processes.
- Proficiency with Fluke DSX testers, OTDRs, fiber scopes, power meters, and related testing equipment.
- Strong working knowledge of BICSI, TIA/EIA, NEC, and hyperscale data center quality standards.
- Proven ability to interpret blueprints, construction drawings, technical specifications, and client standards.
- Experience conducting QA/QC inspections, audits, punch list management, and structured documentation reporting.
- Ability to identify deficiencies proactively and drive corrective actions to prevent rework and delays.
- Experience working in active data centers, colocation facilities, or other mission-critical environments preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- OSHA 10 certification or higher preferred.
- Ability to travel extensively and work fully onsite across multiple project locations.
- Ability to work flexible schedules based on project demands.
Work Experience
- Experience supporting new construction hyperscale data center environments required.
- Experience coordinating with Project Managers, General Contractors, clients, and field teams in large-scale construction environments preferred.
- Experience managing quality standards across multiple concurrent projects strongly preferred.
