Aerospace Quality Inspector (Onsite Job)
Location:
San Antonio, Texas
Contract:
6‑month term with possibility for extension
Pay: $35–$39 per hour (W2)
Shift: 1st or 2nd shift, variable hours (5:00 AM to 11:30 PM), 4×10 schedule (Sun‑Wed or Wed‑Sat), weekend and overtime work required; some positions may rotate shifts.
No security clearance required at the outset.
Responsibilities- Perform inspections of electrical systems, components, wiring, and related aircraft electrical installations to ensure compliance with applicable standards and specifications.
- Implement quality assurance and safety plans to meet contract specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Inspect all phases of goods, services, or operations for conformity to established quality, health and safety, and operational standards, conducting ongoing reviews of work compliance.
- Ensure all services listed on the performance requirement summary are performed satisfactorily.
- Specify inspection areas (scheduled and unscheduled) and determine inspection frequency.
- Communicate deficiencies to appropriate personnel.
- Maintain Quality Assurance documentation and files.
- Document results of all inspections.
- Minimum 3 years of experience inspecting or working with aircraft electrical systems, electrical components, wiring, or related electrical installations.
- Minimum 5 years of Aerospace Quality Inspection experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience performing product or process inspections.
- Minimum 5 years of experience reading and interpreting aerospace engineering drawings and blueprints.
- Willingness to work variable shifts, weekends, and overtime; some positions may rotate shifts.
- Electrical inspection experience on aircraft systems, avionics, wiring, or integrated electrical components.
- Experience with large aircraft Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) inspections.
- Experience in Aerospace, Manufacturing, Quality, or a regulated industry.
- FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate or sufficient experience to obtain an FAA Repairman Certificate.
- Experience with Boeing 7XX or military aircraft.
- Experience with Executive Fleet aircraft.
- Ascend and descend vertical work ladders, work in confined spaces, and lift loads of approximately 35 lb.
- Work exposed to noise and on elevated platforms.
- Use personal protective gear for face, eyes, ears, hands, and arms as required.
- Pass vision and color perception tests; read, write, and comprehend English.
- Handle, use, and dispose of hazardous materials.
- Occasional finger manipulation (1–3 hrs).
- Occasional 2‑person lift for weights > 50 lb.
- Frequent reaching overhead (3–6 hrs) and walking/standing on flat surfaces.
- Frequent balancing on ladders, steps, or uneven surfaces; occasional climbing of 3–12 ft ladders or stands.
- Frequent exposure to noise; regular and predictable attendance required.
- High School Diploma or GED.
