Position Available:Product Quality Specialist
Job Summary:
The Product Quality Specialist is responsible for overseeing the intake, investigation, and resolution of product complaints, ensuring compliance with regulatory agencies and internal quality standards. This role involves gathering and analyzing information, assigning appropriate risk classifications, and making recommendations based on investigation findings. Additionally, the Specialist maintains QA documentation, performs product testing, and collaborates with internal teams to improve overall product quality and processes.
With experience in handling more complex tasks, the Specialist plays a key role in implementing corrective actions and driving process improvements.
- Oversee the intake, triage, and investigation of product complaints.
- Communicate with complainants to gather essential information for investigations.
- Assign risk classifications after thoroughly reviewing case details and ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal standards.
- Analyze complaint data and provide recommendations and solutions based on investigation outcomes.
- Ensure all investigations are documented and concluded per organizational procedures.
- Learn and actively contribute to the continuous improvement of QA and training processes.
- Maintain and update QA department documentation, including factory audits, certifications, specifications, COAs, and reports.
- Assist in developing and refining QA department processes and policies to ensure the highest quality standards.
- Initiate investigations into quality issues with factories, acquiring samples from retail, warehouses, or customers for product testing.
- Draft corrective action reports, implementing appropriate actions with factories based on findings.
- Provide timely and thorough responses to consumers or retailers regarding investigation results and corrective actions, including arranging for replacement products or gift cards when necessary.
- Conduct product inspections and testing at the office, retail locations, or warehouses.
- Collaborate with Product Managers and other departments to gather necessary information for QA vetting processes and customer complaint resolution.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Quality Management, Engineering, Life Sciences, Business Administration, or a related field required.
- Typically requires 2–4 years of experience in product quality, complaint handling, quality assurance, regulatory compliance, or a related field.
- Experience managing moderately complex quality and compliance activities, including investigations, documentation, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable recommendations.
- Working knowledge of quality management systems (QMS), quality assurance processes, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with quality management, complaint tracking, or ERP systems is preferred.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
