Quality Cable & Harness Inspector
We're hiring for a Quality Cable & Harness Inspector position in San Antonio, TX. The schedule is on first shift, fulltime availability for a 6-month contract.
Responsibilities- Perform first‑article, in‑process, and final inspections onsite at a client supplier
- Perform “Power On” inspections of aircraft
- Ensure products meet quality and specification standards
- Verify safety wire orientation, correct turns, and pigtails as per specifications
- Confirm shipping documentation is legible and accurate (part number, serial number, etc.)
- Check documentation packages to industry standards and classify defects
- Interpret manufacturing drawings and identify non‑conformances
- Periodically verify accuracy and ensure productivity to meet production schedules
- Maintain equipment and keep the work area organized
- Knowledge of cable and harness assembly methods
- Familiar with IPC‑A‑620 standards
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Cable and Harness Inspector/Assembler in electronic manufacturing or related fields
- Ability to read schematics, assembly drawings, and identify wiring components
Proficient in documenting Certificates of Conformance (COC) - Strong organizational, communication, and software adaptation skills
- Certified or previously certified in IPC‑A‑620
- Diploma or GED from an accredited high school or technical school; college degree in engineering preferred
- Knowledge of electronic contract manufacturing and LEAN manufacturing
- Preferred: 5 years of experience, with 2 years as a Cable and Harness Inspector
- This position requires access to ITAR‑controlled technical data and/or defense articles. Candidates must be a U.S. citizen or U.S. lawful permanent resident (green card holder). Background check will be required.
