Austin Bridge & Road has an outstanding opportunity for a Quality Control Manager in San Antonio, Texas. The Quality Control Manager provides first-class quality control management services and assists the Project Leadership team with day-to-day functions. The potential candidates for this role must be a proven leader, have an uncompromising emphasis on safety excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the quality control functions at assigned project(s)
- Responsible for managing and implementing quality control standards and overseeing the inspection of production output to assure compliance with customer specifications
- Developing Quality Control Technicians and monitoring their work
- Develop a career path for QC/QA Technicians assigned to your project(s)
- Evaluating and recommending the resources necessary to meet our quality goals
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Technology/Construction Management or related field of study is strongly preferred. Associate's degree with 8 – 10 years of proven direct industry experience may substitute
- Certification in Soils, Concrete, and Hot Mix Asphalt testing preferred
- PE License, NICET Level IV certification, or EIT with 2+ years experience preferred
- Extensive knowledge of FAA and TxDOT specifications
- Extensive knowledge of construction material testing, reporting and construction procedures
- Demonstrated ability to work with senior management to accelerate the improvement and differentiation of existing products
- Proven ability to supervise, train, and develop Quality Control Technicians
- Able to present and explain a career path for Quality Control Technicians
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in airport and/or highway construction quality control.
- Project experience includes containing pavement and drainage components.
- Ability to sit at a desk and work on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
