As a Quality Control Manager
, you will manage the business unit quality function through development, implementation and monitoring of policies and procedures consistent with organizational requirements and corporate standards.
- Lead the implementation, administration, and continuous improvement of the business unit Quality Management System (QMS) and ensure compliance with FAA regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
- Promote a strong Safety Management System (SMS) culture by reporting safety concerns, participating in risk assessments, and supporting proactive flight and product safety initiatives.
- Partner with FAA representatives, customers, engineering, operations, and cross-functional teams to ensure quality requirements and regulatory expectations are achieved.
- Monitor quality performance metrics, warranty trends, customer feedback, and production data to identify improvement opportunities and drive corrective actions.
- Lead investigations into customer findings, quality escapes, and production issues using root cause analysis and A3/8D methodologies to prevent recurrence.
- Manage internal and external quality audits, corrective action activities, and compliance initiatives while providing guidance and training to support audit readiness.
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality policies, procedures, work instructions, and configuration control processes to support operational excellence.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing business performance, implementing quality methodologies, and driving process optimization.
- Provide leadership for the Quality team, including hiring, coaching, performance management, employee development, and resource planning.
- Oversee repair station quality administration, including regulatory documentation, rosters, technical data revisions, and inspection support to meet production requirements.
- Prepare and present quality performance reports, compliance updates, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of business objectives and operational excellence.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- 5+ years of experience in the aviation or aerospace industry or equivalent
- 5+ years of experience in a Quality Management leadership role or equivalent
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and at least one ERP, MRP, or Quality Management System (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Teamcenter).
- Must be authorized to work in the US.
- A&P License preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in Quality Control, within an FAA-regulated aerospace, aviation, MRO, or manufacturing environment
- 3+ years supporting FAA Part 145 operations; knowledge of FAA Part 121 operations preferred.
- 3+ years applying AS9110 Quality Management System requirements and FAA airworthiness regulations.
- 5+ years planning, conducting, or leading internal, external, customer, and supplier quality audits.
- 5+ years leading Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations utilizing structured methodologies such as 8D, A3, or 5 Whys while administering Corrective Action Request (CAR) processes through implementation and verification of corrective actions.
- Experience developing, monitoring, and reporting site-level Quality Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
