The Alaka`ina Foundation Family of Companies (FOCs) is seeking a Biostatistician II to provide research support administration services for our government customer in San Antonio, TX.
Responsibilities:- Provide statistical support and advice to PIs in writing research proposals, IACUC protocols, IRB protocols, manuscripts, and technical reports.
- Collaborate with research staff to develop scientifically-sound study designs and write the statistical sections of protocols, manuscripts, and technical reports.
- Generate datasets, tables, figures, and listings to support data analysis using SAS and/or approved statistical programs.
- Perform quality control checks of SAS or other statistical software used.
- Handle complex SAS programming issues as required.
- Provide and verify sample size calculations, including power analyses.
- Calculate and verify results data, including statistical analysis selection and explanation (e.g., Student’s t-test, ANOVA).
- Author statistical analysis plans and develop table, figure, and listing shells.
- Assist with quality control of statistical analyses in research documents, including support for works clearance.
- Complete statistical activities within project timelines.
- Train and mentor PIs and researchers on biostatistics best practices.
- Develop research proposals collaboratively with PIs for grant submissions.
- Master’s degree in Biostatistics or related field with five (5) years of research experience, or PhD in Biostatistics or related field with at least one (1) year of research experience.
- Experience with SAS or other approved statistical software.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Ability to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC).
