MYR Land Services is an oil and gas land and research firm that helps operators and investors better understand acreage positions, development potential, and market activity through organized data, detailed analysis, and high-quality reporting. We work with large datasets and real-world project information to support strategic decision-making across energy development projects.
Program OverviewThis internship is offered through the Students and Startups Program and hosted by MYR Land Services. The selected intern will work directly with the MYR team on real-world energy research and data analysis projects while participating in the professional development structure provided by Students and Startups.
Internship OverviewAs a Summer Intern, you will support ongoing research efforts focused on oil and gas production trends, lease activity, acreage positioning, and development potential. You will assist with organizing datasets, building analysis frameworks, and preparing professional materials used for internal planning and external communication.
This role is ideal for students interested in gaining hands-on experience in energy research, data organization, and applied analytics.
Responsibilities- Research and compile oil and gas production and activity data from public, private, and proprietary sources
- Organize and structure datasets related to leases, operators, acreage positions, and well performance
- Build and refine data filters to isolate relevant geographic areas and activity trends
- Cross-reference multiple data sources to improve data accuracy and usability
- Assist with basic economic and project viability modeling
- Prepare professional summaries, charts, and presentation materials
- Support documentation and research workflows
- Real-world experience working with industry datasets
- Exposure to oil and gas research and development analysis
- Practical skills in data organization, modeling, and presentation
- Mentorship from experienced energy professionals
- Currently pursuing a degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Energy, Engineering, Geology, or a related field
- Strong Excel and spreadsheet skills
- Comfortable working with large datasets and structured research
