Position Summary
The Student Lab Technician works in a basic science research laboratory, operates lab equipment, performs experimental procedures, and collects and summarizes research data. Responsibilities include assisting or conducting a variety of scientific experiments and research projects of limited complexity, collecting, evaluating, and interpreting data for clinical and diagnostic research. The Student Lab Technician reports to professor.
Essential Functions- Assists in conducting a variety of scientific experiments and research projects of high complexity, collecting, evaluating, and interpreting data.
- Assists investigator or higher level technician with research studies, experiments and assays including collection of data, preparation of solutions and set-up and maintenance of equipment.
- Performs database queries of historical data and organization of data into spreadsheet for use in research studies.
- Work with other Research Assistants and maintaining an orderly and efficient research environment.
- Assists in the inventory of all reagents, supplies, and other materials in the research area.
- Ensures proper maintenance of equipment.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Proficient use of Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.
- Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA .
UIW students pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in a health, basic science, or related field.
Required Work ExperienceNone.
Work Hours20 hours per week, hours vary, depending on lab schedules. Occasional Saturday responsibilities.

Salary$15.00/hr
