Senior Research And Development Engineer

Insight Global is seeking a Senior R&D Engineer for a leading regenerative medicine organization. This individual will join a multidisciplinary R&D team focused on developing next-generation cell- and tissue-based products, therapeutics, and innovative assays. The role will lead efforts across prototype development, microfluidics engineering, stem cell research, assay development, and product innovation while supporting projects from concept through development and transfer.

This person will collaborate closely with scientists, engineers, and cross‑functional teams to advance cutting‑edge technologies that improve healthcare outcomes and accelerate regenerative medicine initiatives.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop novel cell- and tissue-based products, therapeutics, and biological assays
• Lead the design, fabrication, characterization, and validation of microfluidic platforms and devices
• Develop prototypes using CAD software, 3D printing, and 3D bioprinting technologies
• Conduct stem cell expansion, differentiation, cryopreservation, characterization, and extracellular vesicle research
• Develop and optimize functional assays to support regenerative medicine and cell‑based therapeutic programs
• Perform experimental design, statistical analysis, and design‑of‑experiments (DOE) studies to drive product development
• Generate technical documentation, development reports, and transfer packages to support R&D initiatives

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, Biology, or a related scientific field
• 6+ years of tissue culture experience
• Hands‑on experience designing, fabricating, and developing microfluidic systems
• Strong experience with 3D printing, 3D bioprinting, and prototype development
• Strong background in tissue culture, cell culture, and stem cell research
• Knowledge of cGMP, cGTP, CLIA, FDA, ISO, and other regulated development environments

Nice to Have:

• Master's degree or PhD in Engineering, Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, Biology, or a related discipline
• Programming experience with MATLAB, COMSOL, and Lab View
• Experience utilizing Fluigent and ECIS platforms
• Background working within cGMP environments and Quality Management Systems (QMS)
• Experience in regenerative medicine, wound healing biology, bone biology, or cell‑based therapeutics
