Who We Are:
The Research & AI Librarian partners with researchers to advance discovery through expert research support, artificial intelligence, research data management, and bibliometric analysis. The position evaluates and implements emerging technologies, develops responsible AI guidance and training, supports scholarly communication and research impact assessment, and delivers innovative services that strengthen knowledge discovery, data stewardship, and research excellence.
Objectives of this Role:Partner with scientists, engineers, and technical staff to provide advanced research support, including complex literature searching, systematic and structured evidence reviews, search strategy development, and research synthesis.
Evaluate and apply emerging AI-enabled research tools for literature discovery, evidence synthesis, scholarly analysis, and research workflows while advancing responsible and effective use.
Develop and deliver training and consultations on scholarly databases, advanced search methodologies, AI-assisted research, citation management, and effective research workflows.
Provide expertise in scholarly communication and research impact, using publication, citation, and other research data to conduct bibliometric analyses, develop data visualizations, and communicate institutional research outcomes and impact.
Advance research information and data stewardship through services and technologies that improve the organization, discovery, management, preservation, and reuse of research data and outputs.
Provide advanced research support across applied science and engineering disciplines, including complex literature searching, systematic and structured evidence reviews, search strategy development, research consultations, and research synthesis support; proactively maintain knowledge of evolving research methodologies, resources, and best practice
Evaluate and support AI-enabled and emerging research technologies; actively monitor developments in research tools and practices and translate emerging capabilities, limitations, and best practices into guidance and services for researchers.
Develop and deliver research training and consultations on scholarly databases, advanced search methodologies, AI-assisted research, citation management, and other research tools; continually update instructional content as technologies, resources, and research practices evolve.
Conduct bibliometric, research impact, and data analyses; develop data visualizations and reporting that communicate research activity, trends, impact, and institutional outcomes; and maintain current knowledge of evolving research metrics, data practices, and analytical tools.
Identify opportunities to develop and enhance research resources, workflows, and knowledge management services based on emerging researcher needs and industry practices; contribute to reference, collection management, outreach, and other library operations as needed.
- Requires a Bachelors or a Masters degree in Library Science, Information Science, Information Systems, Information Management or directly related degree field with related experience supporting scholarly, scientific, or technical research.
- 2 years:
Experience providing advanced research support in an academic, scientific, medical, or research environment, including complex literature searching, systematic or structured evidence reviews, and search strategy development using scholarly databases. - 2 years:
Experience working with research, publication, citation, or related data to conduct analysis, develop visualizations, and communicate findings using tools such as Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms. - A valid/clear driver's license is required.
