Laboratory Technician
The Laboratory Technician supports high-volume diagnostic testing by preparing and combining samples for pool testing in a general processing laboratory. This role focuses on accurate sample handling, basic laboratory techniques, and effective communication to ensure reliable results in a fast-paced, sterile environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform laboratory sample processing, testing support, and documentation activities while ensuring accuracy, quality, and compliance with established procedures.
- Support daily laboratory operations by handling specimens, operating equipment, maintaining organized work areas, and collaborating with team members to meet productivity and turnaround time goals.
Qualifications
- Recent Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry, or Biochemistry is required.
Work Environment
This position is based in a laboratory that performs high-volume medical and biological testing in a sterile, clean, and well-controlled environment. The role is contract-based, with the potential for extension or transition to a direct position depending on performance and business needs. The schedule follows a Tuesday through Saturday night shift from 7:00 PM to 3:30 AM, requiring comfort with overnight work and consistent attendance.
The culture is collaborative and science-focused, with team members typically coming from biology, chemistry, microbiology, and related laboratory backgrounds. Dress code consists of solid-colored scrubs and closed-toe shoes to support safety, cleanliness, and professional appearance in the testing areas.

This is a Contract position based out of San Antonio, TX.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
