Retail Service Specialist
At O'Reilly Auto Parts, the Retail Service Specialist will support the Store Manager and Assistant Managers in sales, customer service, store appearance, and store operations. This person also manages shift operations in the absence of Assistant or Store Manager.
Key Responsibilities- Lead store team members in providing excellent customer service to retail and professional customers.
- Supervise customer service levels on the retail showroom, ensuring team member execution on programs such as Related sales, Hi5, Rock the Call, Never Say No, Rock the Lot.
- Ensure telephone is answered according to company policy.
- Process buy online/ship to store, hub and store to store transfers, and DC add orders in a timely manner and contact customers on shipment arrivals.
- Handle special orders and outside purchases efficiently according to procedure, using electronic outside purchase order ledger.
- Process retail customer returns and exchanges efficiently and friendly, issuing accurate refunds using correct payment methods, and processing or staging returned merchandise correctly.
- Ensure all merchandise, including core charges and warranties, is invoiced before product leaves the store.
- Communicate Zipline messages, Image Maker and merchandising tasks delegated and completed as assigned.
- Ensure team members adhere to posted work schedule, approval of changes/deviations, and proper clock in/out per policy.
- Perform all store opening/closing duties: day‑end procedures, secure money/deposits, prepare bank deposits, secure building security, arm/disarm alarms, lock delivery vehicle(s).
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to obtain RSS Certification.
- Retail sales experience, preferably in auto parts.
- Automotive systems and repair knowledge.
- ASE Certification.
- Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish highly desired).
