Position Summary
We are seeking entry-level, part-time sales associates in our pawn store locations nationwide. The Pawnbroker / Retail Sales Associate partners with the entire staff of the store to ensure customer service on both the lending and retail sides of the business. A Pawnbroker/Retail Sales Associate greets, engages, and interacts with customers in a positive and professional manner to process sales, loans, and other transactions.
The associates will work with a wide variety of jewelry and general merchandise, including tools, electronics, firearms (in FFL locations), and much more. The Part-Time Pawnbroker / Retail Sales Associate position offers an hourly wage, PLUS employees earn commission based on productivity. The successful Pawnbroker's / Retail Sales Associate's pay is based on factors such as work location, qualifications, and experience.
- Greets and interacts with all customers to develop rapport and provide appropriate financial solutions.
- Performs non-management open/close procedures.
- Keeps the sales floor clean, stocked, and maintains merchandise displays.
- Performs sales and loan transactions in accordance with established policies, procedures, practices, and regulatory requirements.
- Handles cash and negotiable items in accordance with policies and regulatory requirements.
- Answers incoming calls per company standards.
- Explains the legal aspects of pawn and buy transactions to customers.
- Communicates effectively with coworkers and managers, showing respect and using effective communication tools.
- Partners with all employees to create a positive and memorable customer experience.
- Completes assigned training successfully.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Must be willing and able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
- Must be willing and able to perform duties for extended periods (standing, stooping, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, lifting).
- Ability to work with firearms and to become firearms certified.
- Employees may assist customers on exterior areas or retrieve products stored in exterior storage buildings.
- Minimum Age: 18 years old
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
- Strong desire to work, serve customers, work with people, and be team-oriented.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations proficiently.
- Cash handling experience is preferred.
- Ability to work in multiple locations as needed.
- Flexible retail schedule including weekends and holidays.
- Computer literate and able to operate POS systems and common office machines.

The employee commission incentive plan is proprietary to First Cash. Pawnbrokers have the potential to earn 2-8% commission, based on the gross profit of their personal performance. Applicants are provided with more details during the interview process.

Maximum base payrate is derived from the applicant’s previous experience and skill sets applicable to the specific position needing to be filled.
