Sales Associate

This is a part‑time customer service role in which the sales associate gives the customer their immediate and complete attention by explaining, demonstrating, and selling woodworking supplies and tools. When not engaged with a customer, the focus should be on the maintenance of the sales floor including facing, dusting and general housekeeping.

• Greets customers as they enter the store within an acceptable period of time, ensuring they are acknowledged.
• Handles all aspects of retail sales of company products, answering product questions and ringing the sale on the POS.
• Places special emphasis on the Total solution concept by showing related products/services a customer may need.
• Assists with maintenance and merchandising of the store to maintain neat, orderly, well‑stocked displays.
• Handles customer refunds and prepares necessary documentation per procedures.
• Refers customers to other sources when items are unavailable, building goodwill for the company.
• Assists with unloading trucks, pricing, merchandising, or other duties as assigned.
• Maintains attendance and is present during scheduled shift.

• Minimum high school graduate or GED.
• Knowledge of woodworking and hand tools.
• Ability to understand customers’ requests and respond appropriately.
• Ability to determine when a return or refund is authorized.
• Strong service orientation to maximize customer satisfaction.
• Team player, outgoing, approachable, congenial with customers and associates.
• Able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.; participate in team lifting.
