Position Summary
Leads and develops teams effectively by teaching training and actively listening to associates touring stores and providing feedback. Communicates and collaborates with all levels of associates regarding store operations, utilizing technology, business initiatives, merchandising, and company direction. Introduces and leads company change efforts, providing clear expectations and guidance to implement business solutions and communicating objectives to teams effectively.
What you'll doModels and demonstrates exceptional customer service standards to store associates by following and demonstrating the One Best Way OBW service model. Manages and supports customer service initiatives, ensuring customer needs, complaints, and issues are successfully resolved. Develops and implements action plans to correct deficiencies and provides process improvement leadership to ensure a high-quality customer experience.
Drives the financial performance and sales of the designated store area by reviewing and evaluating PL Profit Loss statements, managing and assisting in budgeting, forecasting and controlling expenses, and ensuring effective merchandise presentation, seasonal transitions, inventory flow and operational processes. Develops and implements action plans to mitigate shrink and ensure sales and profit goals are achieved.
Provides supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates by hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, setting clear expectations, providing recognition, communicating expectations consistently and effectively, promoting a belonging mindset, and recruiting qualified associates to meet staffing needs and achieve company growth.
Coordinates and oversees job-related activities and assignments by developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, supporting plans and initiatives to meet customer and business needs, identifying and communicating goals and objectives, building accountability for and measuring progress in achieving results, identifying improvement opportunities, and promoting continuous learning.
Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures, supports mission, values and standards of ethics, and implements related action plans, utilizing the Open Door Policy and guiding employees on business processes. Builds high-performing teams, embraces differences, and creates a workplace where associates feel supported and connected through a culture of belonging.
Minimum Qualifications- 2 years’ of college; OR 1 year’s retail experience and 1 year’s supervisory experience; OR 2 years’ general work experience and 1 year’s supervisory experience.
- For facilities that sell firearms, successful completion of a firearms‑specific Criminal Background Check (CBC) and Firearms Authorized Training is required.
- For facilities that sell only ammunition and have state‑specific requirements, a current state issued Certificate of Eligibility may be required.
- Associates will be required to attend and successfully complete all job-required trainings and assessments (e.g., Academy trainings, Open Door trainings).
- Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership with experience supervising 5 or more direct reports, including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.
