- Greet customers in a friendly and courteous manner; make a connection by asking questions and listening to shoppers’ needs, guiding them to meet their shopping needs, inspiring customers to buy, and creating a lasting positive impression of the store and of Goodwill. Continuously improve selling techniques.
- Receive, price, and stock donations; hang, inspect, and tag textiles or clothing in a production environment; maintain floor presentations and restock proactively.
- Operate the cash register; receive payments for purchases, record sales and other transactions, handle cash and debit/credit payments, and issue receipts efficiently and accurately.
- Keep aisles, sales floors, and fitting rooms free of debris and obstructions; ensure work areas and facilities remain clean and organized; inform the team leader or manager of possible safety hazards.
- Maintain work area cleanliness by sweeping, emptying trash cans, and disposing of trash in appropriate containers; follow safe working protocols.
- Perform basic janitorial duties to maintain good housekeeping standards.
- Adhere to loss‑prevention and inventory‑control and compliance procedures.
- Maintain regular, dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting, assisting, and responding to questions and/or concerns in a positive, professional, and friendly manner.
- Assist in safeguarding team members and property from harm, damage, or theft; comply with the ethics policy by reporting any observed or suspected theft, fraud, violence, or unethical behavior to a supervisor, human resources, or the ethics hotline.
- Minimum 6 months to 1 year of experience in a retail customer‑service environment.
- Ability to bend, lift, grasp, and move continuously throughout the shift.
- Good verbal communication skills and ability to work effectively as a team.
