A well-established construction equipment rental business serving the greater Austin & San Antonio markets is hiring its very first Outside Sales Representative. After many years building a strong reputation in the region, the company is ready to stand up a dedicated sales function, and this is the ground-floor seat. We’re looking for someone with real character, high energy, a relentless work ethic, and a genuine competitive streak.

In this role, you’ll own new business development and build lasting relationships with clients. It’s an ideal fit for a self-starter who communicates sharply in writing and in person, performs well under pressure, and is willing to get their hands dirty to get the job done. You’ll start with a two-week immersion in the equipment and product line, then work shoulder-to-shoulder with the company’s President to learn the market, the customer base, and the strategy for growing market share.

The company will offer a first-year guarantee aligned with your experience and earnings history. Over time, the role moves to a base salary plus uncapped monthly commission tied to revenue, along with a truck allowance + fuel card + covered maintenance.

This position reports directly to the President.

What You’ll Do
  • Source and qualify new leads through cold outreach, networking events, and referrals
  • Run in-person sales meetings with prospects and customers in a highly competitive field
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing accounts to keep customers satisfied and coming back
  • Identify customer needs and match them with the right solutions
  • Track sales activity and manage accounts in the CRM (Salesforce), and review your pipeline with the President each week
  • Stay current on market trends and competitor activity
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing terms
What We’re Looking For
  • Standout interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong self-discipline, a tireless motor, and a sharp sense of urgency
  • Able to juggle and manage a high volume of accounts
  • Open to delivering and picking up equipment when the situation calls for it
  • At least two years of outside sales experience
  • Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
