The Director of Sales is responsible for leading the hotel’s sales strategy to maximize room revenue, drive market share, and cultivate long-term client relationships. This executive-level role oversees the sales team and collaborates with revenue management, marketing, and operations to ensure alignment with the hotel’s financial goals and brand standards. The Director of Sales plays a critical role in positioning the property competitively within its market and securing business across group, corporate, leisure, and catering segments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Develop and execute comprehensive sales plans to achieve revenue targets and grow market share.
- Lead, mentor, and manage the sales team to ensure high performance and professional development.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities across group, corporate, and leisure segments.
- Build strategic partnerships with travel agencies, corporate accounts, meeting planners, and local organizations.
- Oversee key account management, contract negotiations, and high-value proposals.
- Collaborate with revenue management to optimize pricing strategies and forecast demand.
- Partner with marketing to align promotional efforts with sales initiatives.
- Represent the hotel at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions.
- Analyze market trends, competitive data, and performance metrics to inform strategy and reporting.
This role is responsible for leading, overseeing, and managing the sales team for their location.
Qualifications- 5+ years of progressive sales leadership experience in the hospitality industry.
- Proven track record of achieving revenue goals and managing high-performing teams.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Strong financial acumen and analytical ability with experience in revenue forecasting and budgeting.
- Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, Business, or related field preferred; advanced degree a plus.
