Position: Provider Partnerships Leader (backed by Y Combinator, $5M+ ARR, $20M+ raised)

Provider Partnerships Leader

Legion is hiring a Provider Partnerships Leader to build one of the company's most important growth engines: trusted referral relationships with primary care providers and other clinical partners who need a fast, high-quality psychiatry partner for their patients.

This is a founding commercial leadership role. You will design the playbook, personally open priority markets, win high-value referral partners, build the operating system for provider growth, and eventually hire and lead a national provider partnerships team. The right person has the grit of a top physician liaison, the strategic judgment of a healthcare BD leader, and the urgency to turn clinical trust into measurable patient access.

Responsibilities

and Deliverables
  • Build Legion's provider referral engine from 0 to 1, then 1 to N.
  • Identify, prioritize, and win high-potential referral sources, including PCPs, pediatricians, OB/GYNs, therapists, urgent care clinics, health-system care teams, community clinics, and other behavioral health organizations.
  • Create territory and market launch plans: account targeting, outreach cadence, field visits, presentations, lunch-and-learns, events, and provider education.
  • Own referral growth metrics, including new referring accounts, active referral partners, monthly referral volume, referral-to-scheduled conversion, completed visits, partner retention, and provider satisfaction.
  • Build relationships with physicians, practice administrators, office managers, MAs, referral coordinators, care managers, and clinical leaders.
  • Make Legion easy to refer to by diagnosing and removing friction across eligibility, scheduling, documentation, insurance coverage, patient handoff, and follow-up communication.
  • Partner with clinical operations, product, marketing, intake, credentialing, and data teams to improve the referral experience end-to-end.
  • Build repeatable systems: CRM hygiene, account scoring, partner collateral, market dashboards, weekly reporting, referral attribution, and field-team training.
  • Collect market feedback from providers and turn it into better messaging, workflows, product improvements, and clinical operations.
  • Hire, coach, and manage Provider Partnerships Managers / Physician Liaisons as the channel scales.
You'll Be Successful If You…
  • Build a repeatable provider-referral motion that can scale beyond founder-led sales.
  • Generate meaningful referral volume from high-quality clinical partners, not one-off low-intent sources.
  • Prove Legion can win trust in competitive local markets against incumbent psychiatry groups, hospital systems, therapy networks, and behavioral health startups.
  • Create a clean operating cadence: weekly pipeline reviews, account plans, referral dashboards, partner feedback loops, and clear attribution.
  • Improve the full funnel from provider referral to patient scheduled to completed visit.
  • Make providers love referring to Legion because access is fast, care is high-quality, and the handoff is easy.
  • Build a field team that is accountable, resilient, clinically credible, and relentlessly useful to provider offices.
Ideal Background and Skills
  • 5+ years in healthcare business development, provider partnerships, physician liaison, clinical outreach, territory sales, or referral-growth roles.
  • Strong preference for psychiatry, behavioral health, primary care, specialty care, outpatient imaging, physical therapy, home health, hospice, specialty pharmacy, GI, dermatology, women's health, or other referral-driven care models.
  • Proven track record of growing referral volume through direct provider relationships.
  • Experience owning a market, region, or territory with concrete activity and performance metrics.
  • Strong field-sales instincts: high activity, crisp follow-up, account prioritization, route planning, and comfort hearing "no."
  • Ability to build trust across physicians, office staff, administrators, referral coordinators, and executive stakeholders.
  • Deep understanding of healthcare workflows: referrals, intake, scheduling, EHRs, fax, patient engagement, insurance coverage, and clinical handoffs.
  • Comfortable using CRM, spreadsheets, dashboards, and referral data to manage…
