Job Description
Ryder is looking for a driven, road-ready sales hunter to own new business development. The Rental Sales Account Manager is a true outside sales position for someone who wants the freedom to build relationships, chase opportunity, and control their own earning potential.
Summary- Sales Territory: San Antonio, Laredo, Corpus Christi, Rio Grande Valley/Pharr
- Compensation: $50,000 base + uncapped commission (average 1st year earnings around $15,000+)

- Hunt and close new rental business—building your own book.
- Travel your territory spending most of your week face-to-face with prospects and customers.
- Represent Ryder's rental solutions to businesses seeking flexible truck and equipment options.
- Manage your own schedule and pipeline with the autonomy of a true road warrior—overnight travel is expected and fully supported.
- Work out of a dedicated San Antonio office base whenever needed, with no requirement to share space.
- No personnel management, recruiting, or branch oversight—just sales.
- Real earning upside: a solid base plus uncapped, performance-based commission that can bring first-year earners to approximately $75,000.
- A wide-open territory with real revenue potential in markets that are underserved today.
- Base salary: $50,000 per year.
- Commission: uncapped, performance-based (first-year earners typically add $15,000+ on top of base).
- Travel: regular in-territory travel with pre-approved overnight stays as needed; mileage and travel expenses supported.
- A hunter mentality energized by new business development.
- Outside sales or account management experience with a track record of building relationships and closing deals in the field.
- Comfort with a heavy travel schedule across a multi-city territory, including overnight trips.
- Self-starter who thrives with autonomy and doesn't need constant oversight to stay productive.
- Strong communication skills and persistence to keep pursuing a deal until it closes.

- Bachelor's degree required in Marketing or 5 years equivalent job-related experience.
- One (1) year or more sales experience or equivalent sales training required.
- Three (3) years or more sales experience preferred.
- One (1) year or more industry experience preferred.
Pay Type:
Salaried. Minimum Pay Range: $50,000 base + uncapped commission. Maximum Pay Range: $75,000 with commission.
