We are seeking a results-driven and technically minded Business Development Manager to drive revenue growth and market expansion across Central Texas for a leading wholesale supplier of electrification equipment, power distribution products, and engineered solutions. This role is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing strategic customer relationships, and increasing market share within the commercial, industrial, utility, OEM, and contractor segments.

The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of electrical distribution systems, switch gear, motor control, transformers, power quality solutions, and emerging electrification technologies. Success in this role requires a combination of consultative selling, market intelligence, strategic planning, and relationship management.

Key Responsibilities Business Development & Sales Growth
  • Develop and execute strategic business plans to achieve annual sales and profitability targets.
  • Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities across Central Texas.
  • Build relationships with electrical contractors, industrial end users, engineering firms, OEMs, utilities, municipalities, and key decision-makers.
  • Generate and maintain a robust sales pipeline through prospecting, networking, market analysis, and customer engagement.
  • Collaborate with inside sales, project management, and supplier partners to deliver comprehensive customer solutions.
Market Expansion
  • Analyze market trends, competitive activity, and emerging technologies within the electrification and power distribution sectors.
  • Identify opportunities for new product introductions, strategic partnerships, and market penetration initiatives.
  • Lead customer acquisition efforts in high-growth sectors including manufacturing, data centers, healthcare, renewable energy, and infrastructure development.
Customer Relationship Management
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to customers by understanding business needs and recommending appropriate solutions.
  • Conduct regular customer visits, presentations, lunch-and-learns, and technical discussions.
  • Develop long-term relationships that increase customer loyalty and recurring revenue.
  • Manage key accounts and support contract negotiations when required.
Technical & Solution Selling
  • Promote a broad portfolio of electrical equipment, including:
  • Low- and medium-voltage switch gear
  • Panel boards and switchboards
  • Transformers
  • Motor control centers (MCCs)
  • Power distribution and automation products
  • EV charging infrastructure
  • Renewable energy and electrification solutions
  • Work closely with manufacturer representatives and engineering teams to develop tailored customer solutions.
  • Support customers during specification, quoting, project execution, and post-sale activities.
Strategic Leadership
  • Maintain accurate forecasting, sales reporting, and CRM records.
  • Participate in annual business planning and territory development initiatives.
  • Represent the company at industry trade shows, association meetings, and customer events.
  • Provide feedback regarding customer needs, product opportunities, and competitive threats.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of business development, sales, or account management experience within the electrical distribution, industrial, utility, or power systems industry.
  • Demonstrated success developing new business and achieving revenue growth targets.
  • Knowledge of electrical equipment, power distribution systems, and wholesale distribution markets.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to develop relationships with executive-level and technical stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with CRM platforms and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout Central Texas.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working for an electrical distributor, manufacturer, or technology provider within the power distribution industry.
  • Understanding of utility infrastructure, grid modernization, and electrification initiatives.
  • Technical background in electrical engineering, power systems, or industrial automation.
  • Established network of electrical contractors, consulting engineers, industrial facilities, and utility contacts within Texas.
  • Experience selling project-based and engineered electrical solutions.
