Position OverviewThe Sales Manager is responsible for generating hotel revenue through proactive sales efforts, account management, and relationship building. This role focuses on selling guest rooms, meeting space, and hotel services while working collaboratively with internal departments to ensure successful booking, coordination, and execution of business within a full-service hotel environment.
What You’ll Do Sales & Business Development- Proactively solicit new business through sales calls, networking, and prospecting activities.
- Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of transient, group, and/or corporate business as assigned.
- Respond to inquiries and RFPs in a timely and professional manner.
- Conduct client site inspections and hotel tours.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with assigned accounts and clients.
- Manage key accounts to ensure repeat and referral business.
- Understand client needs and recommend appropriate hotel services and solutions.
- Provide ongoing communication and follow-up to ensure client satisfaction.
- Negotiate rates, terms, and contracts in accordance with hotel guidelines.
- Prepare and manage contracts, proposals, and booking documentation.
- Coordinate room blocks, meeting space, and billing instructions accurately.
- Partner with Revenue Management to optimize pricing and availability.
- Coordinate closely with Catering, Conference Services, Front Office, and Operations teams.
- Ensure accurate handoff of booked business to execution teams.
- Participate in pre-event meetings and internal planning sessions as needed.
- Address client concerns and resolve issues promptly and professionally.
- Achieve assigned sales goals and revenue targets.
- Track sales activity, booking pace, and account performance.
- Prepare sales reports and forecasts as requested.
- Stay informed on market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments.
- Participate in sales calls, trade shows, and networking events.
- Represent the hotel professionally within the local and regional market.
- Ensure compliance with hotel policies, brand standards, and sales procedures.
- Support special projects and initiatives as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support hotel operations.
- Maintain reliable and consistent attendance as an essential function of the job.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Hotel or hospitality sales experience preferred.
- Experience selling group, corporate, or transient business preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Business, or related field preferred.
- Experience working in a full-service hotel environment preferred.
