Position Summary

The Scientist is responsible for performing analytical testing and supporting laboratory research activities through the operation of advanced analytical instrumentation and chemical analysis techniques.

This role involves conducting chromatographic analyses, troubleshooting laboratory equipment, interpreting test results, and ensuring accurate documentation while maintaining strict adherence to laboratory safety and quality procedures.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to thrive in a fast-paced laboratory environment with minimal supervision after training.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Perform and review analytical testing using chromatographic and other laboratory methods.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory instrumentation, including gas chromatographs (GC), ion chromatographs (IC), and automated switching valve systems.
  • Conduct instrument calibrations and verify analytical accuracy using established calibration techniques.
  • Prepare samples and perform analytical procedures utilizing balances, pipettes, syringes, chemicals, and other laboratory equipment.
  • Set up laboratory analyses, troubleshoot instrumentation and methods, and resolve routine technical issues.
  • Interpret analytical data, review results for accuracy, and prepare laboratory reports using data management software.
  • Assist with chemical experiments and support ongoing laboratory research activities.
  • Work independently after training while consistently meeting productivity and quality expectations.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry required.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of laboratory experience in a chemistry environment.
  • Strong foundation in chemistry, mathematics, and scientific principles.
  • Experience with gas chromatography, ion chromatography, and/or wet chemistry is preferred.
  • Ability to work second shift and occasional weekends as required.
