• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and/or emergency response activities as needed.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while maintaining professionalism.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the shelter location and its perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and support a secure environment.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and sensitive areas within the shelter to help deter unauthorized access and promote order.
• Maintain detailed records of activities, incidents, and observations during patrols and report any irregularities as required.
• Collaborate with shelter staff and local authorities during emergency situations or when additional support is needed.
• Remain visible and approachable to staff, visitors, and residents to provide assistance and help deter potential issues.

• An armed guard card or license is required.
• Must have 3 years of either Military, Law Enforcement, Corrections or Armed Security experience.
• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Experience with handcuffs, pepper spray, and/or baton is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
