Within the Security Operations pillar, our Physical Security Operations Center (PSOC) team is a mission‑critical group responsible for the physical security of data centers across the Americas (AMER) region. This team operates around the clock, ensuring the safety and security of facilities through access control, alarm monitoring, incident response, surveillance, and communication with various stakeholders. The team works collaboratively to mitigate risks and manage incidents in a rapidly evolving global landscape.
the role
The PSOC Watch Officer plays a critical role in supporting a 24/7 security operations environment, overseeing the physical security of multiple sites. This position involves monitoring surveillance systems, managing access control, and responding to alarms, incidents, and other security concerns. A strong focus is placed on customer service, effective communication, and incident triage, with the PSOC Watch Officer acting as a key liaison between on‑site personnel and other operational teams.
The role may also involve shift supervision of local and remote staff when needed.
- Monitor security systems such as cameras and access control at data centers and remote locations, identifying risks or malfunctions, and dispatching appropriate personnel as necessary.
- Maintain detailed logs and documentation, handle email and phone triage, manage escalations, and support unannounced audits.
- Prepare reports, use tools like Microsoft Copilot for efficiency, brief incoming shifts, and carry out administrative or special tasks assigned by management.
- Apply a high level of situational awareness, attention to detail, and strict adherence to standard operating procedures.
- High school diploma and at least 2 years of experience in a Security Operations Center.
- Background in datacenters is a plus.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills; ability to juggle multiple priorities seamlessly.
- Proactive, solution‑oriented mindset; adept at prioritizing tasks and anticipating the needs of the team.
- Effective communication and presentation skills; proactive and adaptable in a fast‑paced, matrixed environment.
- Comfortable working on a computer using Microsoft Office applications (Copilot, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, Word, etc.).
- Reliable means of communication and transportation; legal right to work in the United States; ability to speak, read, and write in English proficiently.
This role offers an hourly wage of $26.50 per hour, based on the Greater San Antonio Area. We provide medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as life insurance, parental leave, and paid time off.
The extra stuffThis position requires the physical and mental ability to perform all essential job functions effectively. This includes maintaining composure under pressure while interacting with clients, authorities, executives, and staff; working independently without direct supervision; and managing multiple tasks simultaneously. The role involves regular use of a computer and keyboard, frequent lifting or moving of items up to 10 pounds, occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds, visual acuity for both near and far distances, and the ability to adjust focus.
The position may involve handling sensitive or confidential information and requires flexibility in scheduling to meet operational demands.
