This position serves as a visible point of contact during weekend operations and helps ensure established access‑control and facility procedures are followed. The position is primarily responsible for observing, documenting, and reporting concerns and contacting management or emergency services when appropriate.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Monitor and control vehicle and pedestrian access to the facility in accordance with company procedures.
  • Verify employees, visitors, vendors, contractors, and drivers are authorized to enter the property.
  • Issue temporary parking permits or visitor identification, assist with required visitor documentation, and direct visitors to appropriate locations.
  • Conduct routine walking patrols and facility rounds to identify unsecured doors, unusual activity, safety hazards, facility concerns, or other conditions requiring attention.
  • Monitor surveillance cameras, access points, alarms, and other designated facility monitoring systems.
  • Observe and report suspicious activity, policy violations, safety concerns, or potential criminal activity to appropriate management personnel.
  • Contact management, law enforcement, fire, EMS, or other emergency services according to established procedures when circumstances require emergency assistance.
  • Respond to alarms, distress calls, and reported facility concerns by assessing the situation, notifying appropriate personnel, and following established response procedures.
  • Perform and document assigned facility checks, including designated temperature readings, doors, alarms, or other facility conditions, and promptly report abnormalities.
  • Maintain accurate visitor, vehicle, incident, facility, and activity logs.
  • Prepare clear and accurate shift or incident reports documenting significant observations, events, and actions taken.
  • Preserve and identify relevant surveillance footage when requested by authorized management.
  • Maintain professional and courteous communication with employees, visitors, drivers, vendors, contractors, and management.
  • Follow all company safety, GMP, food safety, confidentiality, and facility‑access requirements.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Six months to two years of experience in access control, gate operations, security, warehouse/logistics, manufacturing, customer service, or a similar role preferred.
  • Previous experience monitoring a facility, controlling visitor or vehicle access, or maintaining activity logs preferred.
Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to communicate professionally with employees, drivers, visitors, vendors, emergency responders, and management.
  • Ability to accurately complete written and electronic logs and incident reports.
  • Basic ability to operate computers, surveillance monitors, phones, radios, and other access‑control equipment.
  • Ability to follow established procedures and appropriately elevate concerns rather than independently taking unnecessary enforcement action.
  • Dependable and able to work independently with limited supervision.
Physical and Scheduling Requirements
  • Ability to stand for extended periods during the scheduled shift.
  • Ability to walk throughout the facility and property for approximately 2–4 hours during a shift, including conducting scheduled facility rounds.
  • Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments and in varying weather conditions as required.
