The role of the Rigging Helper is responsible for helping the Heavy Haul team on all rigging needs.

• Assists Rigger in moving, lifting and positioning machinery and structural of equipment or units under repair or construction.
• Pulls or slacks off on rigging, following hand signals, to maneuver equipment in close quarters, lay keel and bilge blocks in drydocks.
• Positions chain falls or hoists, air pullers and block and tackle as directed by Rigger.
• May issue and maintain rigging gear in rigging loft and be designated Rigging-Loft Repairer.
• Maintain and contribute to a safe work environment by adhering to policies and procedures as outlined in the Company Safety Program.
• Perform any other task or assignment as deemed necessary by the organization.

• Forklift certification, a plus.
• Two years of experience in machinery moving, preferred.
• Have a working knowledge of hand tools.
• Ability to work in a warehouse and outside that is not climate controlled.
• Ability to work a variety of shifts, such as early mornings or late evenings, during peak season.
• Must demonstrate ownership & responsibility.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds or more.
• Must pass a drug screen.
• Those going onto military bases or other locations with requirements, must be able to pass pre-employment background check.
