Flo-Rite Mechanical's Vision for 2026 is accelerated growth and we're in search of a crafty HVAC Service Tech to join our family and play an integral role in the growth of the Service department. You will have the opportunity to work with top-of-the-line commercial equipment and leverage your extensive HVAC knowledge and expertise to deliver critical troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, retrofitting, consultation and design solutions for a variety of commercial grade mechanical equipment, including chillers, per the unique needs of our growing commercial customer base.
We are looking for a self-motivated team player excited to work in a positive and encouraging atmosphere with excellent customer service and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Service, troubleshoot, and maintain a variety of large commercial mechanical equipment with little to no supervision.
- Leverage and apply cooling principles, practices, and theories such as: refrigerant cycles, heat transfer laws, test and balance, and fluid hydronics.
- Operate aerial man lifts, refrigerant recovery equipment, overhead cranes, hoists, power tools, electrical testing instruments, and other equipment used in the industrial HVAC trade.
- Read and interpret mechanical, piping and electrical drawings, blueprints and diagrams.
- Responsible for conducting regular inspections and properly completing all required project and service documentation.
- Ensure that all safety measures are taken at all times.
- 5+ years of hands-on Commercial HVAC service and repair experience.
- Proficiency in repairing/troubleshooting/maintaining HVAC equipment in accordance with all codes, laws, and regulations.
- Complete understanding of refrigeration cycles and processes.
- Advanced electrical and plumbing troubleshooting skills.
- Universal EPA refrigerants license.
- Computer literate and familiar with Microsoft Products.
- Maintain a professional appearance.
- Understanding of business side operations and self-supporting work ethic.
- Willing to work overtime as needed.
- Pass national criminal background check.
- Current driver's license with clean driving record.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- HVAC Trade School Program/Certification or any other applicable state or local license/certification.
- Experience with cooling towers, heat exchangers, VAV systems is a plus
