Experienced Fire Alarm Technicians Wanted - San Antonio Commercial Projects | Advanced Systems Experience Required

Are you an experienced Commercial Fire Alarm Technician who can do more than just pull wire? We are looking for highly skilled Level I - Level III Fire Alarm Technicians in the San Antonio market to support major commercial, institutional, healthcare, education, industrial, and government-sector projects. If you know fire alarm systems inside and out - from installation and programming to diagnostics, commissioning, troubleshooting, inspections, and re-certifications - this opportunity is built for you.

STAR's premier low-voltage clients supporting complex commercial fire alarm systems throughout the San Antonio area. We are seeking technicians who can read prints, lead installations, troubleshoot live systems, and work confidently across multiple manufacturer platforms.

What You'll Do

As an experienced Fire Alarm Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, testing, troubleshooting, service, inspection, programming support, and commissioning of commercial fire alarm systems in accordance with NFPA 72, NEC, IBC, local AHJ requirements, and manufacturer specifications.

You will:

Install, terminate, test, and troubleshoot Class A, Class B, NAC, SLC, IDC, and signaling circuits
Perform advanced troubleshooting for:
Ground faults
Open circuits
Short circuits
Device communication failures
False alarms
Panel trouble conditions
Install and service:
Smoke detectors
Heat detectors
Duct detectors
Beam detectors
Aspirating smoke detection systems
Pull stations
Horn/strobes
Voice evacuation systems
Remote annunciators
Elevator recall interfaces
Fire pump monitoring
Sprinkler monitoring devices
Tamper and flow switches
Releasing systems
Interpret and redline:
Blueprints
Riser diagrams
Device layouts
Sequence of operations

What We're Looking For

You're likely a fit if you have:

1-8+ years of commercial fire alarm experience
Texas FAL preferred (strongly preferred for higher-level roles)
Working knowledge of NFPA 72, NEC, and local fire codes
