Description:
Licensed Fire Alarm Technician
Trade
STAR is currently hiring experienced Licensed Fire Alarm Technicians for commercial life safety projects in the San Antonio area.
Job Responsibilities
• Install, service, troubleshoot, and commission commercial fire alarm systems
• Perform installation and maintenance of fire alarm control panels, smoke detectors, pull stations, horn/strobes, heat detectors, monitor/control modules, voice evacuation systems, NAC circuits, and notification devices
• Program and troubleshoot addressable fire alarm systems
• Perform system testing, inspections, and final commissioning
• Read and interpret blueprints, riser diagrams, wiring schematics, sequence of operations, and device layouts
• Troubleshoot ground faults, open circuits, NAC issues, and communication faults
• Maintain inspection reports, service documentation, and as-built drawings
• Coordinate with inspectors, project managers, and other trades
Qualifications
• Current Texas Fire Alarm License required
• 3+ years of commercial fire alarm experience
• Strong understanding of NFPA 72 and commercial fire alarm codes
• Ability to independently diagnose and repair system issues
• Reliable transportation and industry-standard hand tools required
Preferred Experience
• Experience with Notifier, Silent Knight, EST, Siemens, Fire Lite, Simplex, Bosch, and Honeywell systems preferred
• NICET certification is a plus
