Pay Rate: $25-$30/hr

Lead Voice & Data Technician | $25-$30/hr
Trade
STAR is currently hiring an experienced Lead Voice & Data Technician for commercial structured cabling and low-voltage projects in the San Antonio area.
Job Responsibilities
• Lead commercial voice and data installation crews on active job sites
• Coordinate daily activities with project managers, superintendents, and other trades
• Install, route, support, and terminate structured cabling systems
• Oversee installation of copper voice/data cabling, fiber optic backbone cabling, wireless access point cabling, MDF/IDF infrastructure, and backbone/horizontal cabling systems
• Perform and supervise Cat6/Cat6A terminations, patch panel installations, rack/stack builds, fiber terminations/testing, and cable certification/troubleshooting
• Read and interpret blueprints, riser diagrams, one-line diagrams, floor plans, and cable schedules
• Manage cable pathways including conduit, cable tray, ladder rack, and J-hook systems
• Ensure installations comply with ANSI/TIA, BICSI, and commercial job site standards
• Maintain project documentation, labeling, and as-built information
• Assist with material management, crew productivity, and job site safety
Qualifications
• 3+ years of commercial structured cabling experience
• Previous lead or foreman experience preferred
• Strong understanding of voice, data, and fiber optic systems
• Experience managing crews on commercial construction projects
• Ability to troubleshoot cabling infrastructure and connectivity issues
• Reliable transportation and industry-standard hand tools required
