Mobile Service Technician

Job Summary

The Mobile Technician I is expected to perform basic preventive maintenance and repairs with limited supervision on trucks and trailers. This technician will also work in the shop between service calls and may participate in the after‑hour on‑call rotation for the location if needed.

• Perform routine and scheduled maintenance services such as oil changes, lubrications, and filter replacements.
• Maintain 80% productivity and limit comebacks to zero.
• Repair, reline, replace, and adjust brakes (air, hydraulic, electric, and brake accessories).
• Test drive vehicles and test components using proper equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair exhaust systems, steering systems, and air conditioning.
• Record final measurements, services, and parts used during the last stage of a job, noting any special customer request(s).
• File, grind, sand, and smooth filled or repaired surfaces using power tools and hand tools.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace and service truck.
• Practice safe driving.

High school diploma or GED. Diesel Technology certificate/degree is a plus, but not required.

1+ years of experience with basic maintenance/repairing class 7 & 8 trucks and trailers.

• Valid driver’s license with good driving record required.
• Class A CDL is preferred, but not required.
• Must provide hand tools, air tools, and toolbox.
• Maintain perfect safety record.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.

Exposure to inside/outside conditions, extreme temperatures (average of 100°F), humid conditions, chemical hazards, vibration, equipment noise, and work in enclosed and confined spaces.
