Fiber Splicer

We are actively looking for Fiber Splicer in the San Antonio, TX area.

Pay Rate: $25 - $35 per hour depending on experience.

As a Fiber Splicer, you play a crucial role in the installation and maintenance of fiber optic networks. You are responsible for various tasks, including building, prepping, and splicing fiber. Additionally, you’re responsible for interpreting construction drawings and understanding design prints/maps, fiber optic splice schematics and work orders.

This is an Hourly Non-Exempt position that reports to the Fiber Splicing Manager or Construction Manager depending on the area assigned.

• Maintain a valid driver's license.
• Responsible for turning in deliverables and production reports on a daily basis.
• Must set up and maintain a safe working environment, adhering to proper personal protective equipment (PPE) guidelines.
• Arrive at work on time every day limiting unexcused absences.
• Responsible for maintaining, cleaning and organizing work area, truck, equipment, tools and office location.
• Excellent teamwork skills, including the ability to collaborate effectively with coworkers, vendors, and customers.
• Time management skills are crucial to ensure efficient use of working hours.

• Submit all required paperwork accurately and on time, including:
  • Daily job reports
  • Timesheets
  • Purchase and fuel receipts
  • Project photos and as-builts
  • Splice counts and completion details for invoicing
• Perform regular maintenance and inspections.
• Report issues promptly.
• Keep tools/test gear clean, functional, and secure.
• Participate in scheduled on-call rotations (24/7 availability during assigned times).
• Work flexible hours to meet project and team needs.
