job summary

as an electrical technician, you'll be responsible for a range of electrical trade functions, including installation, maintenance, and repair of equipment used in electricity generation, distribution, and utilization. Your expertise will ensure the smooth operation of various electrical systems and components.

• install and repair diverse electrical equipment like generators, transformers, switchboards, and motors, based on blueprints or specifications.
• work from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications.
• conduct troubleshooting and diagnostic procedures to identify and resolve electrical system issues.
• perform load requirement computations and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• utilize electrician's tools and test instruments proficiently.
• possess rounded expertise typically acquired through formal apprenticeship or licensure.
• maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned work areas.
• collaborate with maintenance team members and assist as needed.
• execute additional tasks as directed by supervisory personnel.

• high school diploma or equivalent education (required).
• electrical journeyman license (required).

• must be able to lift 50 lb., squat, bend, stoop and kneel for short periods, climb a ladder, stand for long periods of time, and maintain constant arm extensions.
• may encounter occasional exposure to elements such as heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, chemicals with minor safety hazards (cuts, bruises, etc.).
• must be able to pass a local background check and obtain/maintain nac/lac clearance after hire.

• strong oral and written communication skills.
• proficiency in microsoft office suite desired.

the rate for this position is $33.44. This position may also be eligible for a wide range of benefits based on applicable bargaining unit agreements.
